A video featuring a soldier who said he was forcibly recruited as a porter by Myanmar’s military junta has been widely circulating on social media.

မြန်မာစစ်အုပ်စုရဲ့ ပေါ်တာအဖြစ် အတင်းအကျပ် စုဆောင်းခံခဲ့ရတယ်လို့ ပြောဆိုထားတဲ့ တပ်သားတစ်ဦးရဲ့ ရုပ်သံဖိုင်ဟာ လူမှုကွန်ရက်စာမျက်နှာတွေမှာ ကျယ်ကျယ်ပြန့်ပြန့် ပျံ့နှံ့နေပါတယ်။

In the video, he talks about his experiences inside the military, including living conditions, food supplies, and fighting on the frontlines against resistance forces.

ရုပ်သံထဲမှာတော့ စစ်တပ်အတွင်း နေထိုင်ရတဲ့ အခြေအနေတွေ၊ စားသောက်ရေး အခက်အခဲတွေ၊ တော်လှန်ရေးတပ်ဖွဲ့တွေနဲ့ ရှေ့တန်းစစ်မျက်နှာမှာ တိုက်ပွဲဝင်ခဲ့ရတဲ့ အတွေ့အကြုံတွေကို ပြောဆိုထားပါတယ်။

He also shares advice on how people can avoid being taken as porters or forcibly recruited.

ဒါ့အပြင် ပေါ်တာအဖြစ် ဖမ်းဆီးခေါ်ဆောင်ခံရတာ ဒါမှမဟုတ် အတင်းအကျပ် စုဆောင်းခံရတာတွေ မဖြစ်စေဖို့ ဘယ်လို သတိထားနေထိုင်သင့်တယ်ဆိုတာကိုလည်း အကြံပြု ပြောဆိုထားပါတယ်။

Myanmar’s military authorities activated the People’s Military Service Law in March 2024 and have continued military training programs across the country.

မြန်မာစစ်အုပ်စုဟာ ပြည်သူ့စစ်မှုထမ်းဥပဒေကို ၂၀၂၄ ခုနှစ် မတ်လက စတင်အသက်ဝင်စေခဲ့ပြီး နိုင်ငံတဝှမ်း စစ်မှုထမ်းသင်တန်းတွေကို ဆက်တိုက် ဖွင့်လှစ်နေပါတယ်။

As of June 2026, the military has reportedly conducted up to the 26th training batch.

လက်ရှိ ၂၀၂၆ ခုနှစ် ဇွန်လအထိတော့ စစ်မှုထမ်းသင်တန်း အပတ်စဉ် ၂၆ အထိ ဖွင့်လှစ်ထားပြီး ဖြစ်ပါတယ်။

According to resistance groups, nearly 150,000 people have undergone military service training through those 26 batches.

တော်လှန်ရေးအင်အားစုတွေရဲ့ ထုတ်ပြန်ချက်တွေအရ အဲဒီသင်တန်း အပတ်စဉ် ၂၆ ခုအတွင်း စစ်မှုထမ်းစုစုပေါင်း တစ်သိန်းခွဲနီးပါး ရှိလာပြီလို့ သိရပါတယ်။

The same sources say that more than 10,000 conscripts have been killed in clashes with resistance forces across the country.

အဲဒီစစ်မှုထမ်းတွေထဲက တစ်သောင်းကျော်ဟာ နိုင်ငံတဝှမ်းက တော်လှန်ရေးတပ်ဖွဲ့တွေနဲ့ ဖြစ်ပွားခဲ့တဲ့ တိုက်ပွဲတွေအတွင်း သေဆုံးခဲ့တယ်လို့လည်း ဆိုထားပါတယ်။

They also report that around 1,000 soldiers have defected or surrendered to resistance groups.

ဒါ့အပြင် စစ်မှုထမ်း တစ်ထောင်ဝန်းကျင်ဟာ တော်လှန်ရေးအင်အားစုတွေဆီ အလင်းဝင်ရောက်လာတာတွေ ရှိနေတယ်လို့ ထုတ်ပြန်ချက်တွေမှာ ဖော်ပြထားပါတယ်။
