Recently, the so-called "SH News Agency," also known as the Special Public Loudspeaker Joint Journal, has been holding a series of district-level meetings across Yangon and Mandalay regions. Led by its Chief Editor and CEO, U Thet Naing Oo, the group claims these seminars aim to combat "fake news" and "disinformation" that target military junta departments.

However, media analysts and observers state that this is a coordinated effort to intensify the regime's propaganda machine, suppress ground-level truths, and mislead the public amidst the ongoing national crisis. The sudden expansion of their district offices is seen as a strategic move to dominate local information flows.

The Dark History of MCRA (1997–2018)

To understand the reality behind this group, it is essential to look back at its notorious history. The network originally originated from the Myanmar Crime Reporters Association, widely known as MCRA. This association was first formed in 1997 under the direct influence of the former Home Affairs Minister, Lieutenant General Tin Hlaing, during the previous military dictatorship.

For over two decades, MCRA became infamous not for professional journalism, but for rampant corruption. Many of its members exploited their media badges to act as corrupt brokers—extorting money from citizens, accepting bribes, and illegally interfering in police stations and judicial cases. Following intense public complaints and overwhelming evidence of malpractice, the Ministry of Home Affairs officially dissolved and banned MCRA in 2018.

Rebranding Corruption Under New Media Badges

Today, those same notorious figures have re-emerged under new media names like "SH News Agency." The current leadership, particularly CEO U Thet Naing Oo, faces heavy criticism within the media community for a total lack of journalistic integrity and for operating as an official mouthpiece for the military junta.

ဒီကနေ့မှာတော့ အဲဒီ နာမည်ပျက် အမှုပွဲစားဟောင်းတွေဟာ အမည်သစ်တွေ ပြောင်းလဲပြီး လိုင်းပေါ် ပြန်တက်လာကြပါတယ်။ အခု SH သတင်းဌာနကို ဦးဆောင်နေတဲ့ CEO ဦးသက်နိုင်ဦး ဆိုသူဟာ မီဒီယာလောကမှာ ကျင့်ဝတ်သိက္ခာ လုံးဝမရှိသူအဖြစ် အဝေဖန်ခံနေရပြီး စစ်အုပ်စုနဲ့ နီးကပ်တဲ့ ဆက်ဆံရေးကို အသုံးချကာ ဝါဒဖြန့်လုပ်ငန်းတွေကို လုပ်ဆောင်နေတာ ဖြစ်ပါတယ်။

The Junta’s Wider Propaganda Network

This is not an isolated phenomenon. The military council is actively funding and fabricating multiple propaganda networks to manipulate public perception. Agencies such as NP News, People Media, and Myanmar Hard Talk operate under identical patterns. They all disguise themselves as independent or alternative media, while their primary operations consist of attacking legitimate independent journalists, whitewashing the regime's atrocities, and gaslighting the public about the country's actual situation.

The illegal military regime has launched a tactical operation to demolish over 30 sealed buildings linked to cyber-scam networks in Shwe Kokko new town, north of Myawaddy, Karen State, starting on the morning of May 25.
ကရင်ပြည်နယ်၊ မြဝတီမြို့နယ်မြောက်ဘက် ရွှေကုက္ကိုမြို့သစ်က အွန်လိုင်းငွေလိမ် (ကျားဖြန့်) လုပ်ငန်းတွေနဲ့ ဆက်နွယ်ပြီး ချိပ်ပိတ်ထားတဲ့ အဆောက်အအုံ ၃၀ ကျော်ကို အာဏာသိမ်းစစ်အုပ်စုက မေလ ၂၅ ရက် မနက်ပိုင်းကစပြီး စက်ယန္တရားကြီးတွေနဲ့ ဖြိုချဖျက်ဆီးနေတယ်လို့ ဒေသခံတွေက ပြောပါတယ်။ 

However, local sources and border observers expose this move as a deceptive theatrical stunt orchestrated to mislead the FBI and shield illicit billions from rising international pressure, while the core cyber-fraud operations remain fully functional on the ground.

According to regional ground sources, junta authorities are deploying heavy machinery to demolish 4-story buildings at a calculated rate of two per day. These structures were previously "sealed off" by the junta-aligned Border Guard Force (BGF) under allegations of cyber-fraud, illegal gambling, and human trafficking.

A local source familiar with the matter revealed the reality behind the curtains: "The buildings being demolished are abandoned structures previously used by scam operators. This destruction is a performance designed solely for international optics. The actual cyber-scam syndicates are still operating seamlessly. This is their standard playbook—they temporarily clear out during high-profile scrutiny, only to resume operations later. New scam buildings are actively being constructed as we speak."

Pressure has escalated sharply through 2024 and 2025 from international actors, including China, demanding the eradication of border cyber-crimes. Following the United States' announcement establishing the "Scam Center Strike Force" to target transnational cyber-crimes in Myanmar, the BGF abruptly declared a crackdown in Shwe Kokko on November 17, 2025.

Border experts highlight that destroying a few dozen buildings out of hundreds is merely a smokescreen. The syndicates have rapidly adapted, diversifying their bases across major mainland cities in Myanmar, moving deeper into Chinese networks, or setting up heavily protected hubs right along the Thai border to escape accountability.

Currently, the military junta and BGF have heavily locked down Shwe Kokko, enforcing strict checkpoints and restricting the movement of local civilians.

Locals suspect these severe restrictions are intended to prevent information leaks regarding the relocation routes of these cyber-scam cartels and their new operating zones.

According to regional ground sources, since early 2026, cyber-scam operations have significantly resurged across Shwe Kokko, Myawaddy, and Mae Htaw Tha Lay. Furthermore, numerous new scam hubs have aggressively emerged in areas including Thit Ka Tay, Metta Lin Myaing, Phalu, Kyauk Khet, Son See Myaing, and Three Pagodas Pass.

To create a visual distraction, the military junta, following its anti-scam draft law on May 14, demolished two abandoned structures in Shwe Kokko on May 25, announcing plans to destroy up to 77 buildings. However, border sources highlight that the junta is intentionally raiding only the KNA-controlled side of Shwe Kokko for international optics, while completely leaving the cyber-scam hubs inside the Democratic Karen Benevolent Army(DKBA) territory untouched.

Consequently, scam operators have rapidly expanded into these new zones. Notably, the notorious "Tai Chang" scam centers—for which the United States government issued a $10 million bounty for information on April 23—are currently operating actively in the Kyauk Khet area under DKBA territory.

According to U.S. government reports, Southeast Asia-based transnational organized crime organizations (TCOs) are aggressively targeting American citizens with large-scale cyber-fraud operations. In 2025 alone, American citizens lost over $7.2 billion to these devastating scams. 
အမေရိကန်အစိုးရရဲ့ထုတ်ပြန်ချက်တွေအရ အရှေ့တောင်အာရှအခြေစိုက် နိုင်ငံဖြတ်ကျော် ရာဇဝတ်မှုအဖွဲ့အစည်းတွေ (TCOs) ဟာ အမေရိကန်နိုင်ငံသားတွေကို ပစ်မှတ်ထားပြီး၊အကြီးစား ဆိုက်ဘာလိမ်လည်မှုများ ပြုလုပ်နေကာ ၂၀၂၅ တနှစ်အတွင်းမှာပဲ အမေရိကန်
နိုင်ငံသားတွေဟာ အဆိုပါငွေလိမ်လည်မှုလုပ်ငန်းတွေကြောင့် ဒေါ်လာ ၇ ဒသမ ၂ ဘီလီယံကျော် ဆုံးရှုံးခဲ့ကြရပါတယ်။

Currently, the military junta and BGF/KNA forces have tightly locked down Shwe Kokko, enforcing strict checkpoints to prevent information leaks regarding the relocation routes of these cyber-scam cartels into their newly established zones. While the military regime attempts to dodge international sanctions and FBI scrutiny by staging structural demolitions, it remains the ultimate benefactor, continuing to reap billions in illicit revenue and bribes from these transnational crime networks.

Facebook,YouTube,Twitch, Mediafire တို့မှ စစ်အုပ်စုအတွက်ဝါဒဖြန့်ပေးနေတဲ့အင်တာနက်ပလက်ဖောင်းအကောင့်တွေကို မနေ့ ကပဲအပြီးဖြုတ်ချလိုက်ပါတယ်။

စစ်အုပ်စုအတွက်ဝါဒဖြန့်ပေးဖို့အသုံးပြုနေတဲ့ Facebook,YouTube,Twitch, Mediafire တို့ရှိအင်တာနက်ပလက်ဖောင်းအကောင့်တွေကို ဖယ်ရှားပေးဖို့အတွက် Justice For Myanmar အဖွဲ့က နည်းပညာကုမ္ပဏီများမှ အရေးယူဖို့အတွက် ဖိအားပေးတောင်းဆိုခဲ့ရာမှ မနေ့ ဒီဇင်ဘာ ၁၈ ရက်မှာ အပြီးဖြုတ်ချပေးခဲ့တာပါ။

အာဏာသိမ်းစစ်အုပ်စုအတွက်ဝါဒဖြန့်ဖို့ မြန်မာ့အသံနှင့်ရုပ်မြင်သံကြား (MRTV) နဲ့ မြန်မာ့ရေဒီယို တိုက်ရိုက်ထုတ်လွှင့်နေတဲ့ လိုင်း ၁၄ ခုတို့ဖြင့်ပက်သက်တဲ့ ဝဘ်ဆိုဒ်Google၊ Apple App stores တွေက မိုဘိုင်း Apps တွေက ဖယ်ရှားခဲ့ပါတယ်။ 

MITV ဝဘ်ဆိုဒ်မှာ တွဲတင်ထားတဲ့ MITV တိုက်ရိုက် ရုပ်သံ ထုတ်လွှင့်မှုကိုလည်း Twitch သာမက Facebook ကပါဖြုတ်ချခဲ့တာပါ။YouTube ဘက်ကတော့လက်ရှိအချိန်အထိဖြုတ်ချထားတာမရှိသေးဘူးလို့ Justice For Myanmar အဖွဲ့ကဆိုပါတယ်။ 

MOI Video News ဆိုတဲ့  စစ်ကော်မရှင် ပြန်ကြားရေးဝန်ကြီးဌာနအကောင့်တစ်ခုကိုတော့YouTubeပလက်ဖောင်းကိုဖယ်ရှားခဲ့ပါတယ်။

လူမှုကွန်ယက်ပလက်ဖောင်းတွေဟာအာဏာသိမ်း စစ်တပ်အတွက် ဒီဇင်ဘာလကုန်နဲ့ ဇန်နဝါရီလအတွင်းမှာ ကျင်းပမဲ့ ရွေးကောက်ပွဲအတွက် မဲဆွယ်စည်းရေး၊ ဝါဒဖြန့်ချီရေးတွေအပေါ် အရေးပါတဲ့ ဒေါက်တိုင်တွေအဖြစ် အထောက်အပံ့ပေးနေသလို ရွေးကောက်ပွဲအပေါ် ဝေဖန်သူတွေကို အရေးယူပြီး အကြောက်တရားဖြန့်ချီရေးအတွက် အရေးပါတဲ့ ကဏ္ဍမှာ ရှိနေတယ်လို့JFMက ထုတ်ပြန်ချက်ထဲမှာထပ်မံ ဝေဖန်ထောက်ပြထားပါတယ်။

Facebook, YouTube, Twitch, and MediaFire, have removed accounts linked to propaganda by Myanmar’s military regime.

Several online platforms, including Facebook, YouTube, Twitch, and MediaFire, have removed accounts linked to propaganda by Myanmar’s military regime.

According to Justice For Myanmar (JFM), the accounts were taken down on December 18 after sustained pressure on major technology companies to act against platforms used to spread military propaganda.

JFM reported that websites and mobile applications linked to MRTV and Myanmar Radio, including 14 live broadcast channels, were removed from Google and Apple app stores. Live streaming from the MITV website was also taken down by Facebook and Twitch, although YouTube has not yet removed all related content. One Ministry of Information-linked YouTube account, known as MOI Video News, has been removed.

In addition, Facebook and MediaFire reportedly removed accounts connected to the Yadanabon Newspaper, which is published under the Central Regional Military Command in Mandalay.

Justice For Myanmar said it has also urged companies including Alphabet, Apple, TikTok, X, Telegram, Cloudflare, and ApkPure to take similar action, but no response has been seen so far.

JFM criticized tech companies for failing to adequately address hate speech and propaganda, warning that social media platforms continue to play a key role in promoting military narratives and election-related propaganda.
